Brian and his wife Angela are honest, hard working people. Their restaurant is family oriented. Their staff is excellent! Very friendly and the food speaks for itself, Awesome! If you have the opportunity to try the smoked wings or half chicken you won't regret it. Regardless of what you order it's a great choice.
Recently having moved to the area, I quickly scouted and bookmarked "must visit" local restaurants. I've been craving the loaded (pork)butt spud from Hix since seeing photos posted. When Hix posted a photo on Facebook today and it popped up on my feed, that was it, I had to try this amazing looking potato. I called to place a to-go order and was informed that I got the last one! See, it was meant to be, lol. Driving through the packed parking lot (and now I see why), I picked up my order (the girl at the window was so nice & sweet, very welcoming, great people!) & couldn't wait to get back. I unpacked my order and was blown away at the sheer size of this potato. I was pleasantly surprised to find that here at Hix, they don't skimp on toppings. They scored bonus points with me when I asked for an extra side of bbq sauce and they gave me two (most bbq places back home treat extra sauce like gold & don't want to share). First impression, the spud is appealing to all the senses. The aroma entices you while in route to your destination after pick-up, a delightful feast to the eyes when opening the container and you can't wait to dig into this bursting spud of deliciousness! I love the amount of toppings (lots of sour cream, cheese, bbq sauce and pork). The pork is so tender and is good on its own as well, the sauce is perfectly sweetened (two thumbs up!), and the potato melts in your mouth. Everything about the spud was perfect! I love locally owned restaurants like this, and the positive faith messages they share make this a must . If you're craving some delicious bbq, don't hesitate, give Hix a try, you won't be disappointed.
Went there for lunch today. Was so good we ended up ordering more than we could eat. So it's Hix BBQ for lunch and dinner!!! Winning!!!

Great bbq. Highly recommend the butt fries with fresh, made-in-house pork rinds. Will definitely return multiple times.
